Wednesday, August 9, 2023 marked an historic day for the new City of Gluckstadt.  A Groundbreaking Ceremony was held to celebrate the new Gluckstadt Police Department and Municipal Court.  Over 100 people were in attendance as they heard from state and local officials.  Leading the program was Mayor Walter Morrison.  He was followed by Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann, Speaker of the House Phillip Gunn, State Representative Jill Ford and State Representative Jonathan McMillan.  Chief Wendell Watts closed out the program thanking all of those involved and talking about how quickly the department has been formed and the tremendous support he has received from city officials.
